FIRE DISASTER.
Newfoundland Fishing Town Suffers. DAMAGE £300,000. (Received 9.30 a.m.) HARBOUR GRACE (Nfld.), May 20. Damage amounting to £300,000 was caused early on Wednesday by a fire which swept through Carbonear, on the west coast of Conception Bay, destroying the principal industrial plants of the town, which lias a population of 5000. A number of homes were also burned. The chief industries are fishing and the manufacture of fishing supplies.
