"HAIL HITLER."
COMMUNISTS IN COURT,
BERLIN, May 14. Herr Hitler, the leader of the Nationalist Socialist (Fascist) party, wae called as a witness to prove that he had prohibited his adherents from carrying firearms, wlien four Nazis —as members of the party are also known —were charged with raiding the Communist dance hall and shooting one person and wounding others. He insisted that his organisation was a legal one, and said that storm troops had been formed to protect the movement from the attacks to which it was exposed from all sides. They did not want to alter the constitution of the republic by illegal means. When Hitler entered the Court the four accused saluted him in Fascist fashion, and cried, "Hail, Hitler!" for which the judge- rebuked them.
