ALPINE CLUB.
BRIGHT MAGAZINE ISSUED. INFORMATIVE VOLUME. "T~' •'Our way is the way of the mountain," runs the inscription of the monthly magazine of the Alpine Sports Club, and to read the reports of the man; trips organised by the club is to realise how fitting is the motto. Members appear to have been to most of the mountainous country of both islands, from the Southern Alps in. the Soutli Island, to Tongariro in the North. Their love of the hills is strong. The magazine is an informative little volume. Besides giving reports of the different activities of the club, it includes special articles describing phases of natural life around Auckland. Everyone has heard th- cicada, but few people know much about its habits. The story of a wet trip J o Anawhata, one of the Wefet Coast beaches, headed in the magazine, "Anawhata —Wet!" is a bright feature. The magazine also .gives details of fixtures for the winter, and provides general information about the pr-ogress of this healthy club.
