AUCKLAND AFFAIRS.
DATE FOR, OTAGO MATCH.
FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. Advice was received from the Otago Union, at a meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union last night, that it had confirmed September 5 as a date suitable for the representative match in Auckland between the two unions. Mr. H. Frost, the chairman, who presided, made reference to the death of Major H. Redmond, and all stood in silence as a mark of respect to his memory. Following were the ground officials appointed for Saturday : —Sturgess Park, Mr. Nelson; Point Chevalier, Mr. Carr; Domain, Mr. Connyngham; GribbleHirst Park, Mr. Addison; Ellerslie, Mr. C. ,T. Williams; Onehunga, Mr. McCarter; Victoria Park, Mr. A. Jensen.
An application from the Methodist Bible Class Union for permission to use the Show Grounds on June 3 was granted. Confirmation of the following reinstatements was received from the New Zealand Union:—L. A. Waters. G. Trigg, W. F. Cowsill, C. W. Miller. R. Dormer, E. A. Walker, R. D. Martin, D. R. Williams, N. Hunby, J. F. C. Taplin, C. C. Peterson, J. Ganley, R. T. Crewther, C. C. Munkowitz, F N. Whitcombe, R. A. Stewart, G. D. O'Leary, J. Whitcombe, A. F. Anthony, G. Bartrum, E. J. Power. The New Zealand Union wrote asking that the names of five representative referees be forwarded The matter wasi referred to the appointments' board for a report. The following applications for reinstatement were recommended to the land Union:—C. Spring, F. L Broadbent, A E. Turton, T. H. Forbes,. R. Absolum, J.' Hayden, E. J. Hedge, C. O. Kelly, J. H. Blong, Mi Hansen.
