RACING AT MASTERTON.

THE AUTUMN MEETING. PROGRAMME FOR TO-MORROW The autumn meeting of the Masterton Racine Club will open to-morrow and fairly good fields are engaged in the majority of events. Only five are carded for the Kahumingi Hurdles. Red Fuchsia has not done much recently, while Full Mark scored at the E>mont and Taranaki summer meetings, and Tunbridge ran second to Cashier at Marton. Spearopa occupied a similar position at FeUding to Goldlike. Perhaps the most money will go on TUNBRIDGE FULL MARK. The majority of those engaged in the Novice Stakes have not much to commend them. Child's Study was placed in two five-furlong two-year-old races at the last Wairarapa meeting. Acis was third in the Nursery Handicap, iive furlongs, at the Wairarapa summer meeting ancf occupied a similar position in a Nursery Handicap, live furlongs, at Hawke's Bay. Shootist has been placed on the West Coast up to six and a half furlongs, and also ran third in a fivefurlong race at Marlborough last week. Foghorn looks the best of the others. The chief selections may be CHILD'S STUDY SHOOTIST ACIS. Pewa, after his third in the Balgawnie Hack Handicap and his success in the iJoiiville Hack Handicap at Wanganui :ast week, will have some support in the Lawn Handicap. Spearful won the Highweight Handicap, one mile and a quarter, :it the recent Hawke's Bay meeting, while Ephialties was successful over eix furlongs at the last Wairarapa fixture. Johneen annexed a seven-furlong event lit Nelson and also at Marlborough •recently; while Ben Hur won over the r-.ame distance at the latter fixture. Lady !!ene also scored over seven furlongs at Nelson, beating both Johneen and Ben Hur. The favourites may be PEWA LADY RENE JOHNEEN. Historic is top-weight in the Masterton Cup, but has not raced since he contested the Great Autumn Handicap at Riccartou at Easter. He has not been galloping ioo well at Trentham. Lady Pam, after her' recent successes, including the Hawke's Bay Cup at Trentham, will have plenty of support. Atholspear won two mile races at Nelson recently, while Cessation finished third in the Nelson Cup and won a mile event the next day. She also won the Cup, one mile and a quarter, at Marlborough. Charmaline won over a mile and a quarter at Waipukurau and finished-eee'ond in the Hawke's Bay Cup to Lady Pam. Malayan ran two good races at Wanganui, being third in the Empire Handicap, one mile and a distance, and occupying a similar position in the Connolly Handicap. Most money may'go on. LADY PAM CHARMALINE CESSATION. Atholspear is also in the Flying Hanilicap as well as the Cup, but if reserved for this race should go well. Freehold won at the recent meeting at Gisborne siid has not been out of a place in his 'ast four starts, which have been at the smaller meetings on the East Coast. Portray was third on two occasions at the Wairarapa meeting, while Arajean ran second at Feilding and is stated to be going well at Woodville. Favourites may he

AKAJEAN ATHOLSPEAR FREEHOLD One of the best fields of the day ie engaged in i.he Grandstand Hack Handicap. Baskier was successful over five furlongs at' Nelson and six furlongs at Marlborough. Flute won over six furlongs at Waipukurau, beating Cuticle and Freehold. Beverage won a six-furlong race at Woodville earlier in the season, while Lady Ronald won a five-furlong race at Nelson. Lucretia, Hystride and may appeal most of those lower down. The favourite division may be FLUTE BASKIER BEVERAGE. The concluding event is the Lands- °? ne Handicap, and there are several who have prior engagements. Perhaps tae best backed will be GOLDEN SHADOW PAKITERE NIGHT SPEAKER.
