BIRKENHEAD FERRIES.
COMPLAINTS OF LATE RUNNING
Complaints of late running of ferries were considered again at the. Birkenhead Borough (Council meeting last evening. The. Birkenhead Transport Company stated that the late rujining of the fnriies had gone from bad to worse, and that the company had difficulty in keeping to its time-table. The Devonpcrt Ferry Company stated that the time for the docking of the vessels was overdue, but the company was not able to use either the dock nor the slipway for cleaning or survey. ♦ "If ferries do not run to time, that would make a great difference to the bus companies," remarked Mr. ■P. Dennen. . The boats were cleaned, once every while, said Mr. R. R. Hayman, and for the latter part of that period the trips were run late, owing to their dirty state. It whs decided to wait until the Hon. E. \V. Alison was in Auckland, and then c-ail oil liiiii: in a deputation to discuss the matter. Representatives of the bus companies -will be included in the depu- ' tation. - •... • ■
