ME. HUTCHISON'S NEW TASK.
ACCOUNTANTS , CONGRATULATIONS
The newly-elected Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, together -with Mr! A. M. Seaman, who has been appointed president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, was entertained by the New Zealand Society ofc Accountants last evening. Mr. J. M. Elliffe presided. In proposing the toast of Mr. Hutchison, Mr. J. A. Gentles said that the society felt proud that one of their number had been chosen to fill the highest office in the city. His capacity was known and the society felt that he would fill his new position with credit to himself and the citv.
Mr. Hutchison said that his professional training had helped greatly to fit him for public office. Although the task would be difficult, he felt that it was worth doing well.
Mr. Gorrie proposed the toast of Mr. Seaman, the toast of the city and suburban borough councillors was proposed by Mr. H. C. Robinson and responded to by Mr. G. Grey Campbell. and the toast of the society, proposed by Mr. H. C. Robinson, was replied to by the chairman.
