CALLIOPE CLUB,
The Calliope Harrier Club held two races on Saturday. The fl™t *ai the "veterans , " handicap of 2% miles, over two laps of a stiff course, including Doth road and country. xne runners were dispatched in the order of a solid pace. After one lap had their handicaps, the front-markers setting a solid pace. After one lap had been completed Rowland, who was running well, had got into the lead, followed by Clayton, with Wengdall slowly making up ground. Rowland put on the pace during the last lap eventually winning, by about 150 yaws. The result was:—A. Rowland (60s), 17.13, A. Clayton (70s), 17.41, 12? JWengdal (40s), 17.34, S; J. Silvester A. Rowland made fastest time in 17.13. The novices were then dispatched over the same course. The result was as f0 (Hamilton) (70s), 17.21, 1- D Smith (scratch), 17.5, 2; G. Davidson (60s), 19.5, 3; W. McCombie (scratch), 18 11 4; B. Woodham (50s), 19.6, 5; H. Turner (50s), 19.19, 6. . Fastest time was made by D. Smlr.n, in 17.5. He also won the trophy presented by Mr. J. P. McPhail.
TECHNICAL OLD BOYS' CLUB.
The Technical College Old Boys' Athletic Club on Saturday held a run of six miles over an excellent course at Mission Bay. The run was a good test for the runners and improving form was shown by several of the newer members. Gordon Kells, exNew Zealand champion, turned out for the first time this season. The run-in resulted as follows: — S. J. Gudsell 1, W. Pearson 2, K. Gillespie 3, L. C. Barker 4, A. Moon 5, B. G. Kirkwood 6.
