RIFLE SHOOTING.
THAMES DEFENCE CLUB,
The final shoot of the Thames Defence Rifle Club's season took place on Saturday, competition being for the Lnbarre Cup. and resulted in Rifleman A. Newland securiug first place with a good score. Following are the results:— A. Xewland. 4S at 200 yds. 40 at 300 yds, handicap 4; total 92; P. Trebilcock. 41, 44 (4) —S9; D. Moore. 42. 43 (3) —S8; J. Gordon, 40, 42 (5) —S7; R. 11. Cameron, 40, 41 (6) —87; W. Dynes, 45, 40 (scr) — 85; P. Smith. 36, 39 (4)—79; L. Comer, 37. 26 (15) —7S. The championship for the season (five best cup shoots out of seven) was won by W. Dynes. Following are the first four scores off the rifle: —W. Dynes. 87, 04, 90, SO, 85—145; A. Xewland, 83, 88, 85. 89, SS —433; P. Trebilcock, 89, 86, 85, 87. So— 432; D. Moore, 84, 00. 85, 87, 85—431. In the rooster competition most wins for the season were secured by W. Dynes. D. Moore and .T. Gordon, each having four successes. It was necessary to shoot off to decide the winner of the trophy. W. Dynes withdrew, leaving D. Moore and J. Gordon. The shoot off resulted in J. Gordon securing the trophy.
