THE LEAGUE CODE.
SENIOR GRADE MATCHES. APPEARANCE OF PONSONBY. KEEN GAME WITH MARIST PROMISED. To-morrow will see the first appearance of last season's championship winners, Ponsonby, when the League senior competition will be advanced a further stage. Ponsonby, who had a bye last week, will meet their Gld rivals, Marist, and a keen, fast and open game is promised, providing the weather is fine and the ground holding. Ponies will field a fair proportion of last season's players and it will be interesting to see how they fare against the strengthened Marist thirteen. Two other senior matches will be staged at Carlaw Park, but 'the Marist-Ponsonby match will be the principal attraction. The curtainraiser to the latter clash will be provided by Devonport and Newton. The seasiders opened the season more auspiciously than did the suburban side, j and if they settle down early they 1 should win. The remaining game, Richmond and City, should prove almost as interesting as the main game. City will have to show improved form if it hopes to carry the day, but, in the end there should not be many points difference between the two thirteens. Reserve and lower grade matches will be continued. The teams are: — RICHMOND ROVERS. Seniors.—Lee, Williams, G.
