MURDERS IN CHINA. *«. Rebels and Bandits Take Eight Lives. NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY. (British Official Wireless )' (Received 12 noon.) RUGBY, May 6. Replying to a question in the House of Commons, the Foreign Secretary, Mr. A. Henderson, said that during the last two years 15 British subjects had been captured in China, all of whom had escaped or had been released. .uight others, however, had been murdered and one, Father Tierney, had died in captivity. The National Government of China realised its responsibility for ensuring adequate protection for British subjects, and, had discharged that duty as far as possible. Most of the outrages had occurred in remote placee where the Government, though it had jurisdiction, did not exercise effective control. <
