OBITUARY.
MR. P. H. WATKINS. A well-known resident of the Raglan district, Mr. P. H. Watkins, died at his home at Te Mata, aged 76 years. Born in Birmingham, Mr. Watkins came to New Zealand in the ship British Empire 51 years ago. He lived a short time in Auckland before he was appointed manager of a general store at Raglan. Later he started business on his own account at Kawhia, and 36 years ago went to Te Mata, where he built the first shop erected in that centre. He was postmaster, at Te Mata for 30 years. Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. J. Wharton, and one son, Mr. H. Watkins, of Te Mata.
