Mr. W. K. Aoyama, of Japan, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P., left Frankton by train for Wellington last evening. Mr. L. D. Leys, of London, and Mr. S. W. Coates, of Melbourne, arc at the Grand Hotel. Mr. John Fuller, director of Fullers, Ltd., arrived. from Wellington by the Limited this morning, and is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. G. Wohlmann, Commissioner of Police, returned to Wellington from Auckland last evening. Sir Edwin Mitchelson, M.L.C., who underwent an operation in a private hospital in Wellington last week, is making satisfactory progress. Mr. T. Bloodworth and Mr. Arthur Watts will leave for Wellington tonight to attend the fitting of the Arbitration Court,"which will deal with the proposal for the reduction of wages. The Rev. A. Liversedge and Mrs. Liversedge, late of Addington Methodist circuit, Christchurch, returned to Wellington by the Maunganui on Tuesday. They will commence their work in their new circuit at Thames on Sunday. Dr. T. Z. Koo, of China, who is visiting New Zealand in the interests of the Students' Christian Movement, will be the speaker at the monthly luncheon of the League of Nations Union, in the reception hall, Milne and Choyce's, to-morrow. Mr. G. Mclntyrc, who has represented the Kumara district on the Canterbury Diocesan Synod for 57 years, has announced his retirement at the age of 88. His term, states the "Church News," is probably a record for a lay Synodsman. Tho Rev. J. T. McWilliara, formerly of Fairlie, was inducted vicar of St. John's Anglican Church, Christchurch, by Bishop West-Watson yesterday. Mr. McWilliam was appointed vicar of Fairlio in 1928, proceeding there from tho Auckland diocese, where he was associated with the Maori Mission for many years.
