DAIRY CONTROL.
BOARD DEFENDED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A remit from South Taranaki to the effect that the Dairy Produce Control Board was inefficient and expensive, and that some sort of amalgamation with other bodies should be arranged, proved unacceptable to the. r executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union to-day. Mr. J. D. Hall (Christchurch) said he thought it would be| very wrong to do anything which might jeopardise the legislation brought down at the time of the last slump. They had been very lucky to have such protection at all, and it might be disastrous to have such a question reopened. . , ~ Discussion ensued, at the end of which the remit was lost.
