TRACK GALLOPS.

WORK AT ELLERSUE. MANAWHENTJA'S GOOD EFFOR3K, The weather was fine though dull at the commencement of training work at Ellerslie this morning, and rain set in before the breakfast interval. The course proper, with the poles about 60ft out from the rails, and the No. 2 grass track were available for fast work, and.the going was good.

The Course Proper.

Gold Money, carrying a, light-weight, jumped off at the five-furlong post, and, after running the first two furlongs in 26 2-ss, completed her task in 1.6 3-5, She did it well. Desert Star, carrying a good weight, took 1.12 2-5 for a similar distance.

Gold Lily sprinted half a mile in 545, and went pleasingly.

Te Money finished two lengths in front of Stimulant over five furlongs in 1.9 2-5. ' :

Sr Mond and Semi-Circle were sent over a round, which they covered in 2.17 2-5, the last seven furlongs taking 1.41 3-5, and the last six 1.27 2-5. They finished together, with Sir Mond doing best, although Semi-Circle went well. Silent Miss ran three furlongs in 40 2-ss, hitting out in good style. Catoma did strong work over seven furlongs, but was not after time. Manawhenua and Wild Country jumped off at the mile post, and after running the first two furlongs in 26 2-ss, covered the first four in 545, completing the mile in 1.50 3-s—a. good gallop. Taneriri and Tetrarchate were on terms at the end of six furlongs in 1.22 2-5. Hawthorn and Bonny Mumble were to have gone half a mile with Royal Gallant, but they broke away ahead of him and ran the distance in 53 2-ss, Royal Gallant taking 53 3-ss. Sub-editor was too good for United over half a mile in 53 4-ss. Brampton, Tambourine and Neil ran seven furlongs in 1.41 2-5. They were bunched at the finish, but Brampton was doing best. Billy's Boy beat St. Lucas over three furlongs in 41 3-ss. The Jumpers. Dark Prince (Campbell) jumped a couple of hurdles well and afterwards ran seven furlongs on the course proper in 1.43 1-5. Scaramouche (Campbell) and Werata (Garrett) went over four- schooling hurdles safely. TAKANINI TRIALS. - REFRESHER GOES FAST. The weather was fine though dull for training at Takanini this morning. The middle grass track was in use and it was in good order. Envoy (Leach) gave Principal a length's start over five furlongs and was with him at the finish in 1.5, the first four taking 51s. Eaglet (Stewart) and Clopton (Jones) jumped off together at the mile post, Clopton establishing a break early, but Eaglet was on terms with him at the finish. The first half took 525, and the full distance 1.45. Refresher (Stewart) was going nicely alongside Hard Words (Jones) at the end of five furlongs, in 1.2 3-5. King Willonyx (Farrell) and Catchem (Feme) ran five furlongs in 1.5 2-15, Chief Joy (Stewart), and Taurua (Jones) showed plenty of dash while running six furlongs in 1.17. Chief Joy was a neck in front at the finish. Koda Pen (Jones) was going easily alongside Amber Link (Stewart) while running five furlongs in 1.2 4-5. Koda Pen is in nice order at present. Ruffles (Home) showed a lot of dash while running a round, the last four furlongs being covered in 51s. Vandyke (Craig) worked well over five furlongs, which he accomplished in 1.3. Litigant (Jones) showed a lot of speed while covering half a mile in 51s. H. Gilmer, who was formerly located at Te Rapa, has arrived at Takanini to join F. Smith's stable.
