CRIMINAL SESSION.
THIRTY CASES FOR TRIAL. Thirty cases, involving 2S prisoners, are set down for trial at the criminal session of the Auckland Supreme which opens to-morrow, before Mr. Justice Herdman and Mr. Justice Smith. In at least six cases there are charges of house breaking. . There are also charges of false pretences, theft, assault causing actual bodily harm, robbery with violence, sending a letter threatening to kill, attempted arson, doing an act to aid the commission of theft, and the forgery and uttering of receipts. In two cases the police have brought charges of attempting to procure abortion, and there are other charges, including rape, unlawful carnal knowledge, iiideceht assault on a male and attempted carnal knowledge.
