v-STPORT WORKERS' PROTEST. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WESTPORT, Sunday. At a meeting which was held at Westport a district council was constituted in accordance with the provision' of the National Industrial Council, set up at an open conference in Wellington, and it was decided to hold a monster Labour demonstration in Victoria Square on Mav 12 to protest against wages cuts. The meeting also protested against the arrest and gaoling of workers m conTKT+-" with the recent unemployed demonstration in WcV s . claiming the right of workers to demonstrate as a means of expressing '*-'■' -'nions on political and industrial matters.
