SHOT WITH REVOLVER.
OUT-PATIENT AT HOSPITAL. STAGGERS INTO OFFICE. MAX'S CONDITION SERIOUS. With his clothes on fire and a bullet wound in his side, Mr. Trevor Wilson, aged 20, of Great South Road, Papatoetoe, staggered into the office of the Auckland Public Hospital just after nine o'clock on Saturday evening. Thifi morning he was operated on and the bullet taken from his abdomen. Although there is an improvement, his condition is reported to be serious. Wilson was formerly a patient in the hospital, and lately had been an outpatient. When first seen by clerks in the office he was in a highly excited state, and was pressing his hand to his side. He was calmed and was admitted for examination. It was found that he had been shot. The bullet entered the left side of his abdomen. Later a revolver was found on the ground near the doors.
About a year ago Wilson left his home and went to work on the Great Barrier Island. He was injured while there, and his left arm had to be amputated. He was brought to Auckland from the island by H.M.s. Dunedin, which was on its way to manoeuvres in the gulf.
Wilson was discharged from the hospital last Tuesday, but was still receiving massage treatment.
