ACCIDENTS.
FOOTBALLERS INJURED. AMBULANCE KEPT BUSY. There were a number of casualties at and League football matches on Saturday, and the St. John Ambulance was kept fully occupied. Playing for College Rifles at Eden Park, F. R. Pickering suffered a broken rib, and was taken to the Auckland Hospital. A deep gash over the left eye was received by H. Webb, of the Grammar Old Boys ee'nior team, in the match against Manukau. . _ J. H. Herbert, a Marathon senior B player, suffered concussion, but recovered after treatment from Dr. Watts. Playing for the Graf ton fourth grade team at Onehunga, W. Maddren, aged IS, of 52, Collingwood Street, Ponsonby, had his jaw fractured, and was taken to the Auckland Hospital. Keith McLeod, aged 21, of 14, Gladwin Road, Epsom, was admitted to hospital suffering from a dislocation of the shoulder received while playing at Devonport. J. Bell, in a League match at Western Springs Park, had his left shoulder dislocated. . Playing at Carlaw Park, Ray McKinnon of the Richmond senior team, suffered a fracture of the leg, and was sent home after treatment at the hospital. A fracture of the right leg was received by James Miller, of Te Hana, Wellsford," during a hockey match there on Saturday. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital.
INJURED THROUGH FALL.
As the result of a fall in Myers Park on Saturday evening, Mr. Henry Walker, ao-ed 73, of 45, St. Paul's Street, City, received severe head injuries. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital, and us in a fairly serious condition.
THROWN FROM CYCLE.
A young man, Mr. C. B. Floyd, of Veronica Avenue, Mount Albert, suffered a deep scalp wound when he was thrown from his cycle in Mount Eden Road on Saturday afternoon. He was taken by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where two stitches were inserted.
