STREPHON SOLD

EACES DISAPPOINTINGLY. LONDON, May 2. Mr. Sol. Green, of Melbourne, has sold the Australian horse Strephon to Mr. Gerald Deanc, acting on behalf of himself and Mr. Somervillc Tattersall, who intend to race him jointly. The price is not disclosed, but is declared to be ridiculously small. Strephon ran a very poor race on Thursday and caused the greatest disappointment."

NEW ZEALAND VICTORY.

STATELY'S KOGARAH STAKES. SYDNEY, May 3. At Moorcfield races the Kogarah Stakes resulted:— STATELY (N.Z.), B.3—Know 1 BONNIE CHARLES, B.9—Coutts 2 ACHATES, B.l—Cook 3 Eleven started. Won by six lengths, half a length between second and third. Time, 1.43 J. F. Guy, rider of Dallad in the hurdle race, was disqualified for two years for improper practices.

AUCKLAND WINTER MEETING.

RE-HANDICAPS FOR CORNWALL. Black Duke, 8.13, has been re-handi-capped. 41b for his success at Marton, and Taneriri 51b for his win at rei, maldng their weights for the Cornwall Handicap 9.3 and 7.12, respectively.
