The Whangarei Racing Club's autumn meeting was brought to a conclusion on Saturday at Kensington Park. There was quite a good attendance, and b?tiiUJ» WOS brisk. Taneriri, who won the Mclnncs .Memorial on the fh\sc Jay, was ~uccessfui ir winning the big handicap, defeating Grand Tea by a head. The winner of the sprint, Manawhenua, is also trained by the Ellerslie owner, Mr. H. Rama. Lucy Rose added the Kia Ora Handicap to his first day's success, while Glena Bay atoned for his defeat by Archeen on the opening day. The totalisp/cor handled £10,751 for the final ' day, making an aggregate of £18,239 for the meeting, compared with £35,747 last year, a decrease of £17,508. British King Gees Under. There were eeven starters for the Flying Handicap, Chief Joy being the only defection. British King, with £589, was favourite, with Lady's Boy (£275), next best backed. Manawhenua carried £168 and Royal Ruler only £97 10/. The first to move off were Oration and Lady's Boy. Going along the back Hampton Park took charge from Manawhenua, closely followed by Oration, British Kin?, Lady's Boy, Rafflight and Royal Ruler. Across the top Hampton Park was still , in front from Manawhenua, Royal Ruler, Rafflight, Oration and British King. Coming into the straight Manawhenua drew out, and, stalling off a run from Royal Ruler, beat him by a length, with British King, on the rails, two lengthe away third. Lady's Boy, Hampton Park and Raffiight were the next to finish. Public Well on Mark. There were only two defections from the Ruatangata Handicap, leaving 13 to line up at the barrier. Bronze Tray (£395) was first choice, Alpina (£334) and' Fairy Belle (£267) being next in order of betting. Wishbone, Paper Dart and Frotfrblower were first out, but along the back De Aka took charge from Wishbone, Automne, Alpina, Wild Valley, Fairy Belle, Bronze Tray, Paper Dart, Lang Veridis and Frothblower. Crossing the top the order was De Aka, Alpina, Automne, Bronze Tray, Fairy Belle, Wild Valley, Paper Dart and Frothblower. At the turn for home De Aka and Alpina were in evidence, followed by Bronze Tray. Alpina went on nicely to win by half a length from Bronze Tray, who was only a neck in front of Frothblower. Then followed Paper Dart, Fairy Belle, Blue Grey and Lang Veridis.

Another Hot Order Beaten. Seven lined up at the barrier for the Northern Hack Handicap, for which Principal, with Gray on top, was made favourite with £480, while Alloy with £263 and Taurua £253, were the next fancies. Passing the stand Sub-Editor was in charge from Holly Holm, Stimulant,, Alloy, Principal, Gay Idea and Taurna. Along the back Stimulant held pride of place from Holly Holm, Sub-Editor,-Principal, Alloy, Gay Idea and Taurua. Along the top Stimulant was etiH leading from Holly Holm, Gay Idea and Alloy. The same order prevailed when the straight was reached, where Alloy took charge, but Taurua came through and stayed on to win by half a length from Alloy, who beat Gay Idea by a-length and a half. Holly Holm, Stimulant, Principal and Sub-Editor finished as named after the placed horsee. The Final Flutter.

For-;tne Kia Ora Handicap British Kingi JRoyal Ruler and Rangikaha did not parade. The- best backed horses were Tetrarchate ( £492), Lucy Rose ( £448), Grand Spirit ( £396). Passing the stand Good Boy led from Grand Spirit, Alpina, Bng Willonyx, and Lucy Rose. Along the back, Alpina came to the front, with Grand, Spirit, King Willonyx, Good Boy, Tetrarchate and Lucy Rose following. Across the top Alpina was still leading from Grand Spirit, Lucy Rose, King willonyx, Tetrarchate and Good Boy. Turning for home Alpina and Lucy Rose Jed from Grand Spirit and Good Boy. Tetrarchate finished very fast, but Lucy jtose went on to win by a head. King Willonyx was a length and a half away «ird, followed by Alpina, Good Boy. and Grand Spirit.
