ATHENIAN CLUB.
The committee of the Athenian Club held their first social evening of the season on Saturday, at the Amateur Operatic Society's Hall, Grafton Road. Beautiful decorations were used in silver and cerise, the etage holding life-sized figures with a garden background, and glistening silver streamers. The dance was called "Happy Days, are Here Again." Successful items were rendered during the evening by Misses R. Scott Stuart, Morse,' Raiuey, Pringle, Messrs. Eskrigge and De Berg. ■ Mr. Wilfred Wright, the president, and Mrs. Wright received the guests, the latter in a black braided georgette, with scarlet ring velvet bow. Among those present were: Mrs. Trask, black tiered lace frock; Mrs. De Berg, mauve georgette and' taffeta; Mrs. C. Anderson, ivory floral satin; Mrs. O'Shea, Saracen red lace; Mrs. Heighway, black ninon; Mrs. G. B. Brookes, lemorr chiffon; Mrs. Gilbert Boyle, blue shot taffeta; Mrs. T. Robinson, peach floral georgette; Mrs. A. Green, cherry chiffon; Mrs. Gilmour, powder blue taffeta; Mrs. G. Anderson, powder blue flowered ninon; Mrs. Jacque, black lace; Mrs. R. L. Raines, daffodil embroidered ninon; Miss Claire Seale, flame panne velvet; Mies Morse, pink frilled georgette, appliqued in blue velvet flowers; Miss Garron, black ring velvet; Mise Scott, period frock of white satin; Miss Seccombe, apricot floral taffeta; Miss Rainey, lemon satin, gold lace hem; Miss Ramage, pink embroidered ninon; Miss Iris Blewden, floral georgette; Miss N". Appleyard, green embossed georgette; Miss Kirby, pink .floral chiffon and lace.
