RANGI'S RETURN TRIP.
LIKELY TO LEAVE TO-DAY. CREW TO ATTEND A WEDDING. "I think that it is almost certain that the Rangi will leave Sydney to-day," said Mr. W. A. E. Leonard, owner of the ! Auckland yacht, this morning. The boat has been weather-bound at Sydney since j Monday last. | The weather reports from Sydney last ! evening were more favourable, and Mr. ! Leonard is of the opinion that Comi mander Juler and his crew would endeai vour to fix the time of their departure for this afternoon, in order that they [might be rarewelled by Sydney yachtsj men. Given favourable weather the Eangi should make a good crossing of the | Tasman. Although she was placed third lin the race from Auckland to Sydney, the yacht performed excellently, and | many local enthusiasts are of the opinion j that if her crew had not mistaken their j landfall the Auckland entry would have jwon the contest. ! Mr. Leonard has made arrangements ! with the Health Department for the 1 Rangi to be granted pratique at Russell. ' This means that when she arrives at | Auckland she will be able to come direct ! to a berth without waiting for medical J inspection. I Apart from the fact that the crew of the Rangi are naturally eager to see j their families and friends again, they ! have another reason for making a good ; trip to Auckland. Mr. Erie Spraggon. j who sailed with them on the race, and i returned to Auckland by steamer, has 1 fixed May 26 as the date on which he | will embark on another sea, and his | shipmates in the Rangi are particularly ' keen to be at his wedding.
