THE GAMES FOR SATURDAY. The managementt committee of the Auckland Rugby League was advised by Mr. R. A. Sloman, secretary of the Parnell Club, that it had amalgamated with the City Rovers Club. E. J. H. Clarke, formerly a Richmond player, and now residing in the Papakura district, was regraded to first junior, subject to the application of the Papakura Club being in order. S. Wilcox, formerly of Ivingsland, was regraded as first junior to play for Ponsonby. A. Swanberg, a Richmond player now in Wliangarei, was granted a clearance to City Club there. The reinstatment of J. Whittome, who had played for the Tramway Rugby Union Club, and desired to play with Marist Old Boys, was granted on the usual conditions. New senior players, whose registrations were approved, were: —J. W. Goodyear (ex-Taranaki Rugby Union representative), T. H. Forbes and G. Griffin (Mount Albert, transfer applied for to City Rovers), and A. Pope to Newton Rangers. Transfers granted were: Ted Williams, City "to Richmond; W. W. McLean, Point Chevalier to Richmond. That of F. Chapman from Ellerslie to Ngaruawaliia, was referred to the New Zealand Council. Malier, of Parnell (now City)_, appeared and apologised for using insulting language to a, referee late last season and was severely cautioned. The Referees' Association reported that Goodwin, the Ponsonby_ player, bad expressed regret for his misdemeanour last year. After advising the offender that the League now accepted his apology, the chairman (Mr. George Rhodes) said that this finalised all cases of misconduct of last season, and in future any players who misconducted themselves on the field would be punished severely in accordance with a rigorous new policy decided upon in the interests of the game. Messrs. B. Avery, A. E. Asher and A. McClymont were appointed selectors for the season. The donor of the Montcith Shield wrote asking permission to withdraw the tropliv from club competition as it had come'to his knowledge that friends of the late Mr. E. N. ("Chute") Fox were donating a memorial shield, and the™foro the writer felt it would bo a fitting trbute to withdraw his shield, which could be devoted to another competition. It was decided to accede to the request and allocate the Montcith Shield at a later date. In order to prevent interference with club matches, it was decided to submit a remit to the Council of the Tvew Zealand League that no interprovine.nl, interisland, or international matches be played in Auckland until after the end of the senior competition. _ . It was decided that no admission to C'arlaw Park be granted except by official passes and purchased tickets. The question of reducing charges a - Carlaw Park for the season was considered, but members felt that it was at present unwise to make any alteration.
