At a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union last night the following players were granted transfers:—G. Guy, Training College to University; J. C. MORRINSVILLE UNION.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, Wednesday. The Morrinsville Rugby Union's competitions will start on Saturday. Last year's senior champions, Kereone, will play Waitoa, a new team, which includes members of the defunct Tatuanui Club, and several newcomers to the district. On the other ground Terriers and United will play. There are six junior teams and four third grade teams.

TE PUKE SUB-UNION.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TE PUKE. Wednesday. Prospects for , the forthcoming Rugby season promise to be exceedingly bright. Keen interest is being evinced by the business community, and various teams are "steadily practising with the object of winning the Te Hurunui-Apanui Memorial Challenge Shield from Tauranga, the present holders. - At last evening's meeting of the management committee of the Te Puke Rugby Sub-union, presided over by Mr. Jonathan Brown, six senior teams were nominated for local competitions.

An application made by the New youth Wales Union, oil behalf of itself and the Queensland and Victorian Unions, asking for remission of £1510 10/2 due to the New Zealand Rugby Union as a result of the British team's matches in Australia last season, was viewed favourably by the majority of the delegates at the Rugby Union's annual meeting. In view of the financial difficulties with which the Australian unions are faced, it was decided to remit the whole of the amount owing.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS' DRAW CANCELLED.

The intermediate and junior draw in the primary schools' Rugby matches at Eden Park have been cancelled, owing to unavailability o£ grounds.

HUNTLY RENOWN CLUB,

, (From Our Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, Wednesday. A meeting of the Renown Club was held on Tuesday evening, the president, Mr. W. G. Broughton presiuing over a large attendance of members. Mr. A. A. Griffiths was appointed assistant secretary, and Mr. \\. Dunn trainer. Arrangements were made for the club to meet for training each Wednesday evening, Messrs. Tapp Bros, having kindly placed a building at the disposal of the club. It was decided -to hold a social and dance in Tapp's Hall on Saturday, May 0, the proceeds to be in aid of a player who was injured in a practice match, and did not come under the union's insurance scheme. The cups won at the seven-a-side tournament will be presented the same evening. In the interests of the code, it was agreed to try to arrange that the senior matches be played at one of the larger centres, Huntly, Taupiri or Ngaruawaiiia. The president gave a short address, giving players a few hints on the game, which were appreciated. The splendid attendance and enthusiasm shown augurs well for this club's future.
