ETHYLENE GAS.
The "New Zealand Orehardisfc" writing says:—The use of ethylene gas has attracted some attention in New South Wales, but has so far not been used extensively for the artificial coloTtring of citrus fruits. Whatever good it is capable of accomplishing for the industry, states the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, it cannot be denied but that, in the hands of Unscrupulous persons, who might use it to colour immature fruit, the practice is capable of doing a great deal of harm. As a matter of fact, the misuse of ethylene gas in America has already led to many prosecutions.
