THEFT OF PERFUME.
AGED LABOURER FINED. A fine of £2, in default 14 days imprisonment, was imposed on Thomas Henrv Massicks, a labourer, aged 68, by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. Massicks pleaded cniilty to a charge of stealing a bottle of perfume, valued at 2/3, the property of a city firm. Detective-Sergeant Kelly, who prosecuted, said that yesterday morning the police received a message from a shop that accused had taken a bottle of perfume. Massicks, on being accosted by a constable, admitted the theft. He was suffering from the effects of drink and had been drinking heavily during the past week. He had 46 previous convictions.
