SWIMMING.
AUCKLAND GIRE GUIDES. The Auckland Girl (Juldes* Association lield its annual swimming carnival at the Tepid Baths last night in the presence of a large attendance of spectators. The standard of swimming was high and some very close finishes were witnessed. Three records were broken, Devonport lowering the record of 93s for the rangers open championship to 00 4-Qg, while the tame company lowered the rangers' company relay from 103 l-5s to 102s. The remaining record was established in the third method of the Guides' life-saving, Ali Saints' lowering the record of 40s to 36 2-os. The Wilson Shield, for the company gaining the greatest aggregate points, was won by North Shore, while St. Mary's was the runner-up. The Rangers' Life-saving Cup was secured by Devonport, with Cavell nest in order. City District was successful In gaining the Herbert Smith Relay Cup for guides under 15 years. The prizes were presented at the conclusion of the sports by Mrs. R. J. Coates, acting-provincial commissioner. Following are the results:— GUIDE EVENTS.
