A BRIGHTER OUTLOOK.
The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its Londc?i office as at close of business this week: — Wethers: There is a steady trade at rather better values. Ewes: Smaller supplies have caused prices to harden. Lambs: The market has improved for second quality while firsts remain steady. There is a better inquiry and the outlook is brighter. Beef: The market is short of supplies and prices are nominal. Wethers, light, 3 ] / 2 d to 4*M per lb; heavy, 3d to 3Vfcd; ewe*, 2 1 /£ dto 3%d; lambs, twos, 6d to 6%d; eights, 6d to 6%d; fours, 6d to 6%d; seconds, 5%d to 59id; ox hinds, 3%d to 3%d; fores, 2&d to 2%d; cow hinds. 3d to 3%d: fores, 2*id to 2%d.
