Mr. J. W. Harding, of Papatoetoc, is big game fishing at Wliangaroa. Mr. D. Shirley, of Suva, is staying at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. A. C. Allum left for Wellington last evening. Dr. Marsden arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. A. G. Glyde, of Perth, West Australia, is staying at the Grand Hotel. Sir Qeorge Fowlds and Professor Riddet arrived from the South by the Limited this morning. Mr. J. H. Lewis, accountant at the Palmerston North branch of the Union Bank of Australia, has been transferred to Christchurch. Mr. Lewis was formerly in the Auckland branch. Mr. E. N. Pascoe, at present postmaster at Newton, has been promoted and appointed to succeed Mr. J. Holmes as postmaster at Te Awamutu as from the end of March. Sir James Mills, chairman of directors of the Union Steamship Company, who is visiting the Dominion, will leave for England by the Rangitata on March 28. Mr. L. R. Partridge, a member of the executive of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association, will leave Wellington by the Monowai on Tuesday on a trip to Europe. The Vqn, Archdeacon J. D. Russell, who has been spending a' holiday in the North of England, arrived at Wellington by the Ulimaroa on Tuesday. While in England Archdeacon Russell met the Rev. H. G. Rosher, ' vicar of Lytham, formerly < vicar of Palmerston North, and also visited the Rev. H. S. Blackburn, of Sandgate, Kent, another former vicar of Palmerston North.
