FIRE AT MT. MORGAN.
MINE WORKS AIiLAZE. BRISBANE, March 18. The at the Mount Morgan li.ine are i reatened with destruction by fire. Tha. origin of the oilitbreak was near the smelter binns on Monday night. The hosepipes are out of order owing to a long period of idleness «and the mine pumps require replacements. A strong wind sprang up when the fire-fighters appeared to be getting the upper hand, and drove tha flames into the woodwork in all directions. The water supply is rapiilly being exhausted. A large tank of <jrude oil and the concentrators are in th«- path of the fire, which, if it jumps tin: break that has been made, will completely destroy the works. !
