SAVINGS BANK PICNIC.
OUTING AT MOTUTAPU. Ideal weather conditions prevailed for the annual picnic of the Auckland Savings Bank staff, which was held at Home Bay, Motutapu, on St. Patrick's Day. During the day the picnickers indulged in -swimming, and a sports programme was got off. Following are the results of the various events: — 100 Yards Handicap.—M. E. Kelly, 4yds, 1; L. C. Barker, 3Jyds, 2; A. Simnionds, 4Jyds, 3. High Jump.—H. H. Wilkins (lin), sft 2in, 1; F. W. A. Byerley (2ln), sft, 2. 50 Yards Swimming Championship.—A. Simmonds 1, P. G. Barry 2, W. F. Fraser 3. Single Ladies' Race.—Miss Johnston 1, Miss Hill 2. Married Ladies' Race.—Mrs. L. C. Barker 1, Mrs. H. Graham 2. Sack Race. —Moore and Miss Prebble. Wheelbarrow Race.—Plummer and Miss Johnston. The following events were decided prior to the picn4c : — Tennis Championship.—C. K. Harrison 1, runner-up, H. J. Barrett. 100 Yards Junior Championship.—W. F. Fraser 1, M. E. Kelly 2, A. Simmonds 3. Time, 10 4-ss. Open Championship.—W. F. Fraser 1, L. C. Barker 2, M. E. Kelly 3. Time, 10 4-ss. One Mile Handicap.—L. C. Barker, scratch, 1; C. L. Stuart, 115 yds, 2; W. F. Fraser, 125 yds, 3. Time, 4m 395. The aggregate points cup was won by L. C. Barker, with W. F. Fraser runner-up.
