Sir Walter Stringer left for the South last evening. Colonel F. Hawkins, of Instow, England is staying at Hotel Stonehur'st. Mr. H. Neveson (Sydney) and Mr. J. Da line nb erg (London) are staying at Hotel Cargen. Mr. J. Tilbury (Lancashire) and Mr. H. M. Gordon Clark (London) are staying at the Grand Hotel. Sir Gould May, a prominent 'London physician, and Lady May are through passengers on the Niagara for Sydney. Mr. J. Moran, a Senator of the Irish Free State, arrived ify the Marama this morning. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. H. Wilson returned by the Niagara yesterday after a year's trip to Britain, the Continent and America. He was accompanied by Mrs. Wilson. Mr. T. B. Strong, Director of Education, and Sir. R. Savage, school architect, are visiting the earthquake area to examine the condition of schools there. Mr. W. J. Hodges, a director of F. J. Tytlierleigh and Co., Ltd., London, arrived by the Niagara yesterday on a business visit to New Zealand. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. R. C. Stirton, a Chicago manufacturer, and Mr. H. McLerie, representative of Swift and Co., Chicago, arrived by the Niagara yesterday on a visit to tlie Dominion. Tliey are staying at the Grand Hotel. Captain J. Aitken, manager of Alfred Dunhill, Ltd., London, arrived at Auckland by the Niagara yesterday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. He will leave in a few weeks for Australia. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Kennedy who received news of the earthquake while they were on holiday in Honolulu, returned to Auckland by the Niagara yesterday. Mr. H. D. Swan, representative of the New Zealand Cricket Council in England, arrived from the South yesterday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. He is visiting the Dominion to complete financial arrangements for the forthcoming tour of the New Zealand cricket team to Great Britain. The Rev. and Mrs. Robert Blair will return to Wellington early next month from Edinburgh, after a period of study in general and religious education. To his previous attainments, Mr. Blair has added the degree of Ed.M., Harvard Graduate School of Education, and has completed the residence requirements for the Ed.D. in philosophy of education.
