At tb-day's auction of hides and sheepskins in the Chamber bf Commerce, an improved feeling was manifested. There was better competition for hides, and prices showed a little improvement. Dry sheepskins also met with btter demand at lasu week's rates. Salted sheepskins met with poor demand, and prices ruled very low. Following are to-day's quotations. Sheepskins.—Dry: Halfbred, 4d per Hi; fine crossbred? 3%d; coarse crossbred, od, medium crossbred, 3%d; short to .lalt wool, 2%d; quarter wool, 2%d; lambs, 3d; pelts, 2 1 M. Salted: Best, short wool, 1/3 each; medium, 6d to 9d. Hides—Heavy ox, 4%d per lb; medium, 41/zd; light,'4%d; heavy cow, 4%; medium, iVzd; light, 4%d; yearlings, sVzd; best calf, 7%d; good, 5d to Gel.
