MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

DEVONPORT CANDIDATES.

There was a large executive meeting Of the Devonport Property Holders' Association last evening, Mr. D. W. McLean presiding.' The secretary, Mr. J. C. Webster, announced the result of the ballot taken by the association to select nine candidates out of 14 names submitted* for the Borough Council at the approaching municipal election. The names of the selected candidates were: Messrs. G. B; Beerc, J. Curtaigne, G. D. Hardy, R. G. Harnett, H. J. Hutehings, H. F. Meikle, A, W. D. Meiklejohn, F. J. Murphy and A. S. Player. He said that 592 valid votes were returned.

The president said all arrangements were being made to enrol the balance of the property holders and generally to infuse interest in the campaign.
