KNIGHTING OF CAMPBELL,
LONDON. February 22,
The King yesterday conferred a knighthood upon Sir Malcolm Campbell, after which, lie had a 40-minute talk with him upon liia record-making feat. His Majesty showed much knowledge of technicalities and the possibility of accidents, and congratulated Sir Malcolm upon his freedom from them. The King recalled the knighting of the late Sir Henry Segrave, and expressed hia great sorrow at his fate.
