At the Gisborne sale fat sheep showed no change. Prime heavy ewes, 3/7 to 5/; others, 2/11 to 3/10; 2-tooth ewes, 5/8; Down lambs, 10/; others, 5/5 to 8/3; second grade ewes, 2/ to 3/10. The store sheep entry totalled 14,000. There was no improvement in prices, as drought conditions retard business. - Good quality station lines of ewes were in demand, but inferior lots were weaker. Ewes, 2-tooth, best, 8/7; good, 5/10 to 6/1; medium; 4/; fair tooths, fairly good, 4/10; 6 and 8tootli, good, 8/4; 5-year, best, 6/8; good, 4/4 to 6/1; moderate condition, 1/9 to 3/; 6-year, with size and condition, 3/8; 4-tooth to 4-year, good, 7/2; good mouths, lacking condition, 2/ to 3/; generally unattractive, a few pence. Lambs were a little easier. Best, 5/; good, 3/6 to 4/; fairly good, shorn, 2/10; culls, lud to 1/.
