WHANG ARE I TOURNEY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

WIIANGAREI, this day.

Another half-day tourney was conducted on the Kensington Club's green on Saturday afternoon, the event attracting a good muster of trundlers from Whangarci, Ilikurangi, Portland and Kensington. The standard of bowling was of a high order, thanks to the excellent condition of the green, -which was comparable to a huge sheet of glass. In many instances players could not hold their woods back, no matter how delicate the delivery. The winner of the Saturday tourney plays the winner of the Thursday section. This means that Woolley. champion of Kensington, will play Taylor, of Hikurangi. At the end of the three rounds, each of 12 heads, on Saturday, Taylor (Hikurangi), Pearce (Kensington) and Cox (Portland) were left in the running. In the semifinal Taylor beat Cox. and in the final he proved too good for Pearce.
