CAR STRUCK BY TRAIN.

SMASH AT KIRIKOPUNI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. Two residents of Wellington, Messrs. W. B. and F. E. Scanlan, were motoring through Kirikopunl at four o'clock yesterday when their motor ear was struck by the Auckland-Dargaville train when crossing the Dargaville side of the Balloon Loop. Mr. W. B. Scanlan received severe injuries to his head and face. He was taken by the St. John Ambulance to the Northern Wairoa Hospital, where he is progressing satisfactorily.
