Two hundred and forty passengers arrived at Auckland from Sydney' this morning by the Maunganui, which is now discharging at the Queen's wharf.

Several overseas vessels are due here before the end of the week. The Onden, from Los Angeles,, and the Kangitiki, from the South, for Homeward loading, are due on Thursday, while the Herminius should arrive about Saturday with basic slag from Antwerp.

Cabled advice from Liverpool states that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mairaoa was dispatched from there last Saturday with general cargo-for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due here about February 24. RANGITIKI TO LOAD. Leaving Napier to-day, the New Zealand Shipping Company's motor ship Rangitikl is due at Auckland at daybreak on Thursday for final homeward loading. She is announced to sail on January 31 with passengers, mails and cargo for Southampton and London. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. The Waiinea sails for Gisborne and Napier at 5 p.m. to-day. The Waimarino arrived from the south this morning, and berthed at the Prince's wharf. She sails at 10 p.m. to-day for Portland, and returns to Auckland on •■Thursday to fill up for Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and Timaru. The Kaimanawa shifted to Chelsea this morning, and is to sail to-morrow -afternoon for Portland, and thence Westport to load for Auckland. The Kanna loads for Auckland at Westport to-day.
