CHILDREN AT MOTUIHI.

VISIT BY HEALTH MINISTER

ADDRESS BY MR. JOHN COURT,

The children's health camp at Motuihi Island was officially visited yesterday by the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of. Health, and. members of the Community Sunshine Association, which is responsible for the organisation* in conjunction with the Health Department. The journey was made in the launch of Mr. John Court,, who has. taken an active interest in the activities of the association since its inception. Through the Minister, Mr. Court, who will celebrate his Ssth birthday on Wednesday next, expressed himself as being greatly pleased with the health camp scheme and the arrangements of the camp. In an address to the , children he complimented them on their excellent conduct, and urged them to strive always for the best in health and service to their camp and their schoolmates. Thus they would develop into a fine fraternity and become good citizens, of a great Empire.

On behalf of the boys and girls, the Minister wished Mr. Court many happy returns of his birthday, and greetings were extended in three ringing cheers. Mr. Stallwortliy expressed his pleasure at the excellent work being done at the camp., and the generous assistance voluntarily given to promote the health and happiness of the children.

The Minister said he would, rather be the friend of every boy and girl than the associate of any person or institution that could deny the fundamental rights of every, child, or the Christian obligation iipon all, as expressed in the recent declaration of Geneva. It would be a joy to all loyal New Zualandcis that by the hand if the Prime Minister, the Eight Hon. G. W. Forbes, they were signatories to that great document.
