The body of the elderly farm labourer, v Arthur Samuel Crawford, aged 70 years, single, of Pukeoware, after an interval of three weeks, was found yesterday by Mr. C. B. Herrold, of Pukeoware, in a paddock on his farm.

When Crawford was laat seen he was shifting from one "bach" to another. He was accustomed to engage in casual work for farmers in the neighbourhood and the sale of a property had necessitated his removal. As the new '"bach" was found locked after December 23 it was presumed deceased had left on a visit to relatives for the Christmas period. The 6iim of over '£ 13 in cash was found in the pockets of the man's clothing, and other papers in hie possession showed that he had a very substantial sum of money in his name. Interest coupons for f 150 were among the papers. It is understood that he had relatives in Morrinsville.

An inquest was opened at Waiuku to-day and wae adjourned after evidence' of identification had been taken.
