DROPPED DEAD.

ELDERLY WOMAN'S END

On Saturday morning about 9 o'clock Mrs. Caroline Schofield, aged 63, of 77, Airedale Street, City, collapsed, and, in falling, struck her head on a coal scuttle, causing a slight abrasion. She was dead when Dr. Parkes arrived.

Giving evidence at the inquest this morning, Dr. Murray, who had made a post-mortem examination of the body, eaid he considered that the woman was dead before she struck the coal scuttle. Death was due to syncope following a disease of the arteries of the heart.
