BEACH CARNIVAL.

MURRAY'S BAY SPORTS.

On Saturday last Murray's Bay presented a very gay and animated appearance, when the second annual sports meeting was held. This gathering, inaugurated by the summer residents, was in the hands of a strong committee, and proved an unqualified success. The day being one of Auckland's best- the fiag-bedeckecl beach was thronged with people. Two items of great interest were the sand-building contest for children under 12, and the treasure hunt for tiny pople. Four teams of boys and girls gave a spectacular exhibition of overhead ball, in which the midget team of girls had a very popular win. Swimming and canoe racing brought to a close a most successful day.
