The middle grass was available at Takanini this morning for training work and was in excellent order. The horses, in view of the approaching Wellington and Takapuna meetings, were worked the reverse way, and in the early part of their tasks they were assisted by a strong wind, which accounts for the fast tinics registered over thiyifirst couple of furlongs.. Trustee (Mcllroy) was asked to do his best while covering live furlongs in 1.8 3-5, his last half-mile taking 555. White Wings (Bagby) strode nicely over the last three furlongs of her work in 38 3-ss. In the Shade (Gray.) and Eaglet (Stewart) were companions in a miJe gallop which they completed 5n\1.45 4-5. Their first three furlongs took 3S 4-;"ss, and the first five furlongs ■Lβ. Both went pleasingly. Camp Prince (Ray), who. was having his first gallop since being rcfomniissioned. was half a length in front of Principal (Findlay) at the finish of half a mile ill 53 2-ss, the last three furlongs taking -10 2-ss. Amnion Tta ((fray) and Chief Jewel (Stewart) both showed plenty of dash while'covering half a mile in 50 4-ss. They finished together. Royal Artist (Walters) got a length the worst of the start, but was on terms with Fedora (Stewart) at the end of half a mile in 50 M-os, the first three furlongs taking 38 4-ss. Ti-Tree (Gray) jumped ofl" at the seven-furlong peg, being picked up at the half-mile by* the Chief Ruler— Peut-etrc filly (Stewart), who finished clear of her. The seven furlongs took 1.32 2-5, the last six takings 1.18 3-5. Ti-tree did not work with her usual dash. Queen Papa (Walters) and Potoa— ! Unity colt (Gray) hit out nicely while ■ covering two furlongs down the back in 20 4-58. . - - . High Comedy (Walters) and Columba (Gray) finished together"after completing half a mile in, 51 the first two furlongß taking 25 l-'ss, and the first three 352-'ss. High Comedy impressed most. . ■ .
