ELTHAM, this day. Three Elthain shops wore burglariously entered early this morning, and within an hour of the commission if the offence a smart arrest of a suspect, a middle-aged man, and a stranger to the town, named Peter Tait Aitken Me Uuskey, was made'by the local police. The premises entered were Ward's drapery store, Morton's drapery store, Manns wine and spirit store. Twentyfour shillings were taken from Ward's and several bottles of liquor from Manns. The burrfar, who was 0; foot, ™ re « the town at 1.30 a.m.. Shortly alter 2 a.m. he was seen by the nisrhtwotchman, whd communicated w:;h the police. The arrest was made ahnit a mile- from town.
