SECOND OF SERIES. 18,000 BALES UNDER OFFER. The second of the Wellington wool sales will be held to-morrow. It is not thought that there will be any marked change in prices. The catalogues total 18,000 bales, which is just a little over half the limit number, 30,000 bales, fixed by the New Zealand Wool Committee. Offerings at the first two sales in Wellington for the past three seasons are'. — 1928-29. 1929-30. 1930-31. Bales. Bales. At the first sale of the season in Auckland, on November 25, of the 19,948 bales offered only 15,133 were sold. At Wanganui the original catalogues totalled 12,000 bales, of which approximately one-half was withdrawn and onequarter of the actual offerings was passed at the kale. Napier catalogues totalled 19,370 bales, of which 15,500 bales were offered, passings being about 20 per cent. Wellington's first sale catalogues totalled 18,040 bales, of which approximately 16,500 bales were offered; passings being fairly heavy. Other offerings last month were:— Christchurch, 17,396 bales; Timaru, 5888 bales; and Dunedin, 10,454 bales. j
