CUTTS BROS'. TEAM.

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH. Monday. The Riccarto'n tracks have been very quiet during the holiday period, and there will not be much doing for some time. Some of the horses who have been racing in various parts of the Dominion have arrived home, and the others will all be back this week, but they will have earned a short rest after their recent exertions. A. Cutts has kept Owlsflight and Cricket Bat busy during the last coupie of weeks, and they should be in good order for a trip to Trentliam this month. Full Feather, Straight Course and Ball Dress, in the team that H. Cutts took north for the holiday meetings. have also been nominated for the Wellington meeting. During the absence of JP. V. Mason in Auckland, J. Scobie has been busy with other members of Mr. G. D. Greenwood's team in preparation for other meetings. Pride, Swiftray and the Chief Ruler two-year-old Dodge have been striding along in useful tasks, and they should •be ready for early engagements, probably at Trentham this month. Coroner and Shatter have been getting through a bit of useful work during the absence of F. D. Jones in Auckland, and they should be well forward for early engagements. F. •E. Jones is keeping Semper Paratus and Weatherly going in useful tasks, and lie hopes to have them ready to race next month, probably at the Dunedin meeting. Compris is back at Riccarton alter a successful trip South. He won the Otago Handicap at the Dunedin meeting, and after being beaten in the Waikouaiti Cup, in which he suffered from interference, he came out later in the

day to win over seven furlongs. Compris may do his ! next racing at Trenthanu where the Wellington Cup will be among his engagements. -s R. W. King intends to race Aberfeldy in the high-weight events at Trentham this month. Gala Day is in regular work, and is striding out freely in his tasks. He may make his next appearance in the hurdle race at Waimate in March. Full Feather was unable to race at the Wairarapa meeting on account of beiiig sore, but it is hoped that he will be all right for a trip to Trentham later in the. month. H. Nurse made a trip home after the Greymouth meeting, but he will return this Week for Reefton, where he will have Sleipner and Charmeuse racing. The other horses he took to the West Coast, Giggleswick, Ringing Cheer, and Huntley, have arrived back at Riccarto'n.
