BLAZE AT MORNINGSIDE.
HOUSE COMPLETELY GUTTED,
A house of five rooms in Mountain View • Road, Morningside, owned and occupied by Mr. A. Renwick, was completely gutted by fire • shortly before three o'clock this morning. Mr. Renwick awoke to find the back porch of the house in flames, and had to assist his wife through a side window to safety. The fire had a strong hold by the time the Mount Albert brigade arrived, and efforts were concentrated on preventing the flames from spreading to the adjoining The house was insured for £900, and the contents for £200 with the Prudential Assurance Co.
