STOLEN CHEQUE FORMS.

Allegations that he stole four blank] cheque forme, forged the name of F. J. Maisey to a cheque for £12, causing it to'be acted upsn as genuine, and stole an orercoat valued' at £5, were made against Sydney John Badams, aged 32, a salesman, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning.* Accused pleaded guilty and was committal to the Supreme Court for sentence. ' ■ . _ "Accused was employed as a salesman by my firm," said? Frederick James Maisey, manager, . Hamilton. , "He left in November without giving due notice." . The .proprietress of an Auckland boarding house said accused had stayed there for several days and paid an account for £5 5/ with a cheque in the name of J. F. Maisey for £12. He was £6 15/ change. A boarder at the house, William Oliver Adrian Townsend, said on December 27 four blank cheque forms were • missing from his room. Boyd Goodridge Lash said an overcoat was stolen from his room. Accused made a statement to Detective O'Sullivan admitting the offences. Bail was not asked' for. .
